aloe vera

Inside every Aloe Vera leaf is a gel rich in minerals, vitamins, enzymes and amino acids - a natural cocktail for soothing and softening. Aloe Vera also has an amazing ability to help lock in moisture for great looking skin and hair.

argan oil

Argan oil, also known as “liquid gold”, is a potent antioxidant that nourishes skin and hair. It absorbs easily and isn’t greasy, making it a perfect ingredient choice in a variety of products. We use sustainable argan oil from Morocco that is collected by a women’s cooperative.

avocado

This super fruit is high in antioxidants to fight free radicals leaving skin radiant. The healthy fats and phytonutrients found in avocados provide high quality food for the skin.

beeswax

Beeswax is a humectant that draws moisture to the skin and acts as a natural protective barrier to hold that moisture in. It softens and hydrates skin. It is also used to add water resistance to sun care products.

calendula

Calendula flowers, aka marigolds, nourish and soften dry, chapped skin. Calendula can also help soothe irritated skin. When used in hair care products, Calendula can improve hair's condition and bring out natural highlights.

chamomile

Chamomile has always been known as a relaxing and soothing tea….less known are its amazing benefits for your skin. It soothes and produces a sigh of relief from those with sensitive skin. And did you know that Chamomile also helps condition and brighten hair?

cocoa butter

An ingredient so rich in fatty acids, your skin will drink it in. Cocoa Butter helps fight the visible signs of aging, softens, soothes and moisturizes all at the same time. Used to keep skin soft and supple for centuries, it is a natural source of Vitamin E. Cocoa butter is easily absorbed, making it the ultimate moisturizer.

coconut oil

For most of the last 4000 years, coconut oil has been used as a food, and as a moisturizer. Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids that rejuvenate skin, keeping it soft and supple. It works for all skin types and it works just as well for hair.

cranberry

Everyone knows these little red beauties are great for juice…but they're also good for your skin. Bursting with super antioxidants that neutralize free-radicals, cranberries are one of nature's most beneficial emollients, too. Rich in Vitamin C, they can help your skin hold onto moisture. Our products use scents from essential oils to natural and synthetic fragrances. A few of our legacy products contain phthalate free synthetic fragrances. While the vast majority of our products use a blend of essential oils and natural scents.

goldenseal

This botanical belongs to the buttercup family of plants and is very gentle on skin. Rich in alkaloids and tannins, it has antiseptic qualities in topical formulas, helping to soothe irritated skin.

grape seed oil

Grape Seed Oil is rich in Vitamin E and linoleic acid - an essential fatty acid also known as Omega-6. It is a potent antioxidant that aids in diminishing the damaging effects of the sun. Grape seed oil's excellent emollient properties also nourish the skin, keeping it smooth and supple. It helps lock in skin's precious moisture…. all without feeling greasy or heavy.

green tea

Used in Asia for centuries, this powerful antioxidant offers extraordinary skin benefits. It helps reduce the signs of aging by fighting free radicals that can cause skin damage. When used in oral care products, it helps promote a healthy mouth and teeth. Good for you inside and out.

hemp seed

Hemp oil is a fantastic emollient that moisturizes and hydrates. High in antioxidants, it helps fight the visible signs of aging. Hemp oil protects, soothes and softens with omega fatty acids.

iceland moss

Iceland moss is really not a moss at all; it's a member of the lichen family. Iceland moss works to gently whiten teeth by fighting plaque. So naturally we put this ingredient in our toothpaste. That's why, unlike so many whitening products, ours work without harsh chemicals or peroxide that can damage tooth enamel.

jojoba oil

Native Americans used jojoba oil for cosmetic and medicinal purposes, attributing mystical healing powers to it. Now you can enjoy the same superb moisturizing benefits. Extracted from a desert shrub, jojoba oil is one of nature's most effective moisturizer for skin and hair. Since jojoba oil is very similar to the oil our bodies produce, it is easily absorbed. It also works for conditioning hair and scalp, leaving hair shiny and lustrous.

lavender

Lavender flowers have long been associated with relaxation and balance…in fact, some studies have shown that the scent of lavender actually increases the brainwaves associated with relaxation. Lavender was used in Ancient Rome to wash battle wounds; the word lavender comes from the Latin word "lavera" which means" to wash". With its ability to balance and soothe, antiseptic lavender is a true workhorse in all types of personal care products.

lemongrass

Lemongrass is great in your favorite Thai dish…and great on your skin. And your hair. It is refreshing, astringent and helps keep skin calm and hydrated. And lemongrass smells fantastic!

licorice root

Used in Chinese medicine for years, licorice root extract is a powerhouse skin soother. It helps hydrate and adds moisture. Potent antioxidants help fight skin-damaging free radicals and the visible signs of aging.

mineral crystals

This food grade deodorant ingredient helps prevent the growth of odor-causing bacteria and is effective at neutralizing odor.

non-mineral actives

We offer products with both mineral and FDA approved non-mineral sun actives. Some customers love mineral sunscreens…they love the idea of physical sunscreen… these products meet their sun care needs. For others, mineral actives can feel a bit heavy. For that reason, we offer broad spectrum products with FDA approved combinations of active ingredients like Avobenzone, Octisalate and Homosalate (never Oxybenzone) that protect your skin with a lighter, more cosmetic feel. When it comes to sunscreens, there are no perfect answers but one thing is for sure: the best sunscreen product is one you will actually use!

olive leaf extract

Olive leaf extract is a hard working antioxidant that helps promote healthy mouth and gums. It also has skin softening properties and can help protect skin from environmental stresses.

patchouli oil

With its grounding and balancing attributes, Patchouli Oil was used by the Chinese to balance the life force known as chi. Of course it’s known for its uplifting and clarifying aromatherapy, but did you know that it is also used in skin products for superb skin rejuvenation?

phenoxyethanol & potassium sorbate

These are non-paraben, food grade preservatives that help keep some of our products fresh and free of mold, fungus and bacteria. Most of our products contain water which is the perfect breeding ground for these nasties. Since we store our products in our warehouse and sell them through distributors, effective preservative systems are a safety necessity.

polymers

Polymers are film formers that help give lightweight water resistance to some of our sun care products. Other film formers we use include beeswax and vegetable waxes.

pomegranate

Pomegranate is rich in Vitamin C…this super fruit helps soothe and hydrate skin while locking in moisture. Powerful antioxidants help fight free radicals and the visible signs of sun damage, leaving skin radiant.

potassium hydroxide

Used at an extremely low level to adjust the pH of our shaves. The proper pH is important in skin care and also allows for a preservative free formula.

rosemary

Popular as a seasoning in Mediterranean cooking, rosemary also helps promote healthy skin and hair. Rich in powerful antioxidants that fight free radicals, it helps soothe, hydrate and tone skin. Did you know that rosemary belongs to the mint family which also includes basil, lavender and sage?

safflower oil

Safflower oil is a nutrient rich botanical alternative to synthetic emollients. High in linoleic acid, it helps lubricate and lock in moisture. It is light, quick-absorbing and provides great moisture.

sage

This powerhouse antioxidant is calming and soothing for skin. It has astringent qualities that help tone and clarify. Sage, rich in nutrients such as vitamins B, A and C and minerals potassium and calcium, also helps promote healthy hair and scalp. With all of these benefits, could sage be the spice that’s missing in your life?

shea butter

Shea butter, from the nuts of the African Shea tree, is a deep skin moisturizer that helps provide skin with a healthy radiance. High in fatty acids and antioxidants, it penetrates the skin easily without clogging pores, keeping skin supple, nourished and radiant.

spearmint leaf oil

Spearmint has been an important herb for centuries. With its antiseptic properties, spearmint leaf oil has a long history of cleansing and soothing. It’s refreshing, cooling qualities energize the spirit, while it’s penetrating properties help soothe muscle aches and pains.

sunflower oil

Sunflower oil is rich in essential fatty acids and Vitamin E. Because it is easily absorbed, it can nourish and condition your skin and hair almost instantly. Its naturally emollient nature softens dry skin and helps fight the signs of aging.

superfruits

Avocados, pomegranates, olives, goji berries, cranberries- these are all super fruits. They are considered “super” because of the high levels of antioxidants, fatty acids and phytonutrients in them. These nutrients work hard to help your skin look its best.

tea tree oil

Aboriginal tribes have known about the soothing powers of tea tree oil for thousands of years. We now know that is a potent antioxidant and antiseptic - a workhorse ingredient that's as effective for your skin as it is for your teeth.

thyme

This botanical is loaded with antioxidants and other phytonutrients that help promote healthy skin. Thyme is calming and cleansing and gentle on skin. It is also known for its antiseptic qualities.

titanium dioxide

It doesn't sound all that natural but Titanium Dioxide is the natural way to protect your skin when you go out in the sun. Titanium Dioxide is an inert (that means chemically inactive) white earth mineral that reflects, blocks and scatters sunlight. So although it may be inactive, you'd hardly call it lazy. In fact, the FDA has approved it as a natural, physical, broad spectrum (UVA and UVB) sunscreen.

zinc oxide

You couldn't tell by looking at it, but from this rock comes Zinc Oxide which is one of the most effective sunscreens under the sun. This natural mineral can block and scatter the sun's harmful rays and help protect your skin from damage caused by UVA/UVB rays. It's a natural for fun in the sun.
